Schule - 16 March (Mon)

Monday afternoon - Marget, Penny and I got back from Schongau around 12:15. Keane and Jakob had already walked home from school together. Keane had a really great time. The class had prepared a song to sing with him - "Alice the Camel has 10 humps....Alice the camel has 10 humps.....Alice the camel has 10 humps...." and then on to 9 and 8 and so on. He also got some math homework to try. Jakob is in a combined class - 1st and 2nd year in the same classroom, so they were pretty advanced for Keane, but he hung in there pretty well. He was excited about trying the homework. The school building has 1st through 4th year. Next year Dominik will ride the bus to Schongau for school.

We had noodle soup for lunch while we got ready to head out for the Castle tour. We packed sandwiches for Dominik and Finn and then we drove to the school to pick them up. Finn also had a very fun day at school. He made friends with Lukas and took a picture of Lukas. Finn was also fascinated by the big backpacks that all the kids carry to school and wanted to snap a picture of those too (not the best shot, but you can tell how big and square they are).

Lukas.....

The boys really had a great day at the school. I had suggested that they go to the school several weeks ago. They seemed willing, but I was afraid that when we finally got there and they saw how different everything was and that everyone was speaking German, that they would back out. They were very brave and curious. They wanted to go back again (and they did go back on Wednesday).

Keane was singing himself to sleep with the Alice the Camel song on Monday night.
